JULY 2023 REPORT OVERVIEW

The nation continues to battle the excess deaths, assaults on democracy, and economic hardships that shot up during the pandemic and have yet to wane. These impacts are often concentrated among people of color in Southern communities. This report is a strategic tool for policymakers as they use federal funds to address these and other challenges.
